I didn't see anyone post this, so I thought some might find it...interesting:

http://dvd.ign.com/articles/723/723868p1.html

It wasn't a real "glowing" review (ha ha, firefly pun) but I hope anyone who isn't already a fan will read it and feel that they're missing out on something...and then watch Firefly/Serenity.

I can't comment on the bonus features (I got it legitimately through the torrent) but I thought the documentary was good. Since it was by fans, starring fans, I don't know why the reviewer was surprised that it seemed predominately FOR the fans. Oh well.

I tend to ignore all reviews. Seriously they never tell me exactly what I want to hear, they're mostly useless.

THe bottom line for Done the Impossible is that it is FOR FANS. The things that don't flow to an untrained audience are intentional I think. I mean, seriously, who watches a fan documentary but fans? Who but Star Trek fans watched Trekkies? Not I, I'm not of the persuasion. Who but Lord of the Rings fans watched Ringers? I did. And it was great, though flawed in comparison to DtI. DtI made me so very proud to be a fan. Made me tear up in some parts and most certainly laugh at others. It was most amazing. Even my long standing LotR fandom pales a bit.

On a different, but related note, the soundtrack to DtI is also most amazing. All the filk. All the fan-ness. (Incidentally, one song featured a line about LotR.) My copy of the soundtrack is on its way now. I couln't be happier.

Anyhow, there is so much packed into DtI. Myriad extra features and all that. I mean, these fans are dedicated. Some are more whack than I.

So now I bid you goodnight as I return to my fandom.
