You may already know all this, but I don't remember seeing the Mercedes Lackey
homepage before. Although I remember the pic
of Serenity from the non-flash http://www.serenitymovie.com site and grabbed it before it changed.

If you like Science Fiction go see the movie Serenity this weekend. Please, take two friends, organize a party, do whatever you can to get folks in to see this movie.

Character driven SF, created by Joss Whedon, who was the driving creative force behind Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Angel.

Serenity is the movie based upon the short lived TV series Firefly, and manages to be enjoyable for someone who never saw Firefly (either in its short run, or boxed DVD set) and for longtime fans of the series.

If you can't find Firefly at your local video store, they can be purchased here, as can the book Finding Serenity a series of essays on the Firefly show. This collection includes essays by Mercedes Lackey and Larry Dixon and a host of other authors.

Here's a link to the official Serenity Movie Website movie site http://serenitymovie.com .

And yes, Misty and Larry are major Firefly/Serenity fans.

Enjoy.

Message from Mercedes Lackey:
I love this series. There is not often a TV series where I would not have changed one single thing. Not one. Perfect, brilliant cast, perfect pacing, perfect writing.

I was hoping the movie would match that.

It was better.

Oh yeah. Oh very much yeah. How often do you see a movie where everyone is smart? No one makes the kind of stupid mistakes that are out of character and serve only to shove the plot down a predestined path. Wonderful. wonderful, wonderful. Go. Go now. Go over and over. Buy the DVD set. Buy multiple copies and give them to your friends.

But see this film.

Misty---Tulsa, OK.

You think you know--what's to come, what you are. You haven't even begun.

That is a gorgeous gorgeous picture!
I knew Mercedes Lackey and Larry Dixon both wrote something for Finding Serenity. And of course Steven King has good taste and appreciates good storytelling. I'm rather surprised to find out Orson Scott Card is a fan, though.

MISSTRESSAHARA

Thank you for this, I'm a major Misty Lackey fan (thanks to my mother, which has made it hard for me to read other authors, just as Joss has made it hard for me to watch any tv out there) and to see this. Well I love and repsect her more for it. Thanks for the link.

Oh, and READ the Valdemar series for good character based stories.

If I'm a bitch, then life just got interesting

Yes Please!!! Valdemar is amazing, bardic voices are great, everything she does is great, but especially Valdemar. And I'd actually seen that on her website, she has great taste. So everyone read her and support a fellow browncoat and if you need to know where to start I'm sure you can ask me or Misstressahara.
Stay shiny,
Aubrey
