Was it a good movie? It seemed funny...it's not usually my type of movie, but I'll rent it if you guys recommend it.

Speaking of which, i say previews for Adam Baldwin's new show daybreak, it looks really good.

You must must see this one. Before I was even a browncoat I was telling all my friends to see this, so it's an unbiased opinion. Completely hi-larious, and the occassional scream. This is a perfect halloween movie, or an any occassion movie. It's no Lawrence of Arabia, but it's good fun.

Oh dear lordy, that movie was hysterical! There was me, my boyfriend, his mum and littler sister and some random guy seeing a hearing impaired showing. There was maybe a total of 10 minutes throughout that there was silence. Very funny entertaing movie, worth the money to see it.

Not my type of movie either but I found it enjoyable. It does what it does well enough. Which is splater horror with a twist of fairly gentle humor. While not the most original movie ever made I never found myself particularly bored nor did the filmmakers go out of their way to insult my intelligence - which is a fairly rare occurence these days most movies being made lately seem to need to talk down to their audiences.

I'd certainly recommend it as a rental.

I'm with ONEMANSHORT on this one. I didn't become a Browncoat until AFTER Slither.

But Slither is hilarious. I work at a movie theater, so whenever I was working on the floor and had a spare minute, I'd just pop in and watch what I could. I also watched it four times in it's entirety. Quite funny, indeed. I'm gonna buy it the day it comes out. I would definitely recommend it!

I was a Browncoat before Slither, but it's my type of movie.

I stood up and said, 'Oh Captain, My Captain,' when Nathan first showed up on screen, and when his name came up at the end credits.

There were angry glances.

You are going to want to buy this DVD. Remember Nathan on the Firefly Set in the gag reel on the Firefly DVD. Plenty of Nathan on the Slither DVD...besides the movie.

Did you listen to Nathan's DVD commentaries with Joss and Alan on Firefly?

From the Director's website.

The SLiTHER DVD will be released on October 24, 2006. Just in time for Halloween. I'm very pleased to announce it will also be available in the HD-DVD format. As I've said before on this site, the DVD will include:
- DVD commentary by myself and Nathan Fillion.

- Deleted scenes, including the infamous Grant Grant meat filing scene, Grant Grant's speech to Brenda about how he loves to be human, "Starla and the inchworm", and many more. All these scenes also feature commentary.

- Extended scenes, including the full porch scene between Bill and Starla, Kylie's more complete explanation of "The Long One," the full scene in the butcher shop with Grant Grant, and much more. These scenes also feature commentary.

- The Gag Reel -- in which you can see just a hint of how many takes Elizabeth Banks screwed up by laughing.

- "Who is Bill Pardy?" - this was a surprise we made for Nathan at the wrap party, in which the cast and crew essentially roasted him. I asked Nathan if he was cool with it being on the DVD, and he was... so... watch us brutally make fun of him...

- "The Sick Minds and Slimy Days of SLiTHER" - A very in-depth, very well done documentary on the making of SLiTHER, featuring the whole cast and crew. I honestly couldn't be happier with this thing.

- "Bringing SLiTHER's Creatures to Life" - a documentary on the prosthetics and CGI effects in the movie. Also wonderful.

- "Slithery Set Tour with Nathan Fillion" - this is the much longer version of the little bit you can see online here:

. At the end of this video, I say some of the crudest stuff I've ever said... and I can't believe Universal left it in!!

- VFX Progressions, from start to finish, featuring kickass music by The Raymakers.

- "The King of Cult: Lloyd Kaufman's On-Set Video Diary" - see the President of Troma Entertainment and the creator of the Toxic Avenger (and my old boss) find himself lost in the world of Hollywood with his cameo role in SLiTHER.

- "The Gorehound Grill: Brewin' the Blood" - a short how-to-make-your-own-blood-and-slime video.

See there is a Commentary by James Gunn Director and Nathan.

The beginning of the Slither Tour clip reminded me of the start of the Gag Reel on the Firefly DVD. And I think Nathan meant it to be that way.
I hope he does the Tour thing with all his movies.

I just watched (finally) Independence Day. My only thought for a few seconds was "when did Jayne take a bath?!"
He just looked so squeaky clean and noble it took me a second to remember that actors do take multiple roles in their lives. Unless they're Gilligan, Spock, or Gomer.
That was the first thing I thought of when I read that Alan had felt it was the best thing (okay, maybe that's an overstatement but you know what I mean) if Wash died. I'm thinking he was hearing music in his head "...Just sit right back and I'll tell the tale, the tale of a fateful trip..."
I had a similar reaction to seeing Book. "Man, Harris got old, what's he doing in space?" (For those of you too young to remember Barney Miller, don't ask).

I'm starting to enjoy Adam's performances even more now that I've seen him play it straight.
He's definitely having more fun when he's Jayne though.

I don't have the link here but the director's James Gunn's website gave a peak at what'll be on the Bonus Features-lots of good stuff including a "roast" of Nathan, how the effects were done and for those who want to make their own horror movies-how to make the goo used all over everyone.

BTW the soundtrack to Slither will be out Aug 8. I can't wait for the one song that was played in the "Deer Cheer" scene and the end credits. I think the lyrics go "Baby I love you but leave me the f%&@ alone".

I was already in love with Adam from the aforementioned Independence Day! I like sci fi, but am not a fanatic generally (though when it comes to 'Firefly'...) I am, however, a trained actor and loved his performance well above and beyond all others in that film! Despite sounding like the movie was not a fave - it actually is so I have it on DVD and watch it a lot... well OK, I watch those scenes with 'Major Mitchell' in them! You cannot imagine how excited I was when I realised Adam was in Firefly! It was one of the reasons I finally gave in to my friend and watched it in the first place... the rest is history!

Love ya! - Magdalena x x

{edit} - sorry - had to correct a few spelling errors! Haven't seen Slither yet, but I will... Oh, yes... I will!!

But Alan has done other things! I mean, c'mon, he was Steve the Pirate! And Sonny (does it count?) and he's done other things too... um...
I love Wash!

Ahh Steve the Pirate, one of my favorite roles he's done, outside of Firefly.

Lets see he was.
Hoban 'Wash' Washburn in Firefly/Serenity
Steve the Pirate in Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story
Sonny in I, Robot
Saber-tooth Tiger/Dodo/Freaky Mammal in Ice Age
Wat in A Knight's Tale
Gerhardt in 28 Days
Traxler in Wonder Boys
Everton in Patch Adams

This is one funny movie! Nathan is hilarious and Greg Henry[the sheriff from THE TRAIN JOB]steals every scene he is in. I met Nathan at Moonlight Rising and we talked about Slither. He also told me he had auditioned for the role of sheriff on a new show on SciFi, but didn't get the part. I can't remember the name of the show right now, but it's a combination of small town sheriff and sci fi happenings....a perfect vehicle for our Captain.

Don't let them in you mouth!!!!

Saw it at the cinema the day it came out. Wasn't dissapointed, great movie which worked at being scary and downright wet meself laughing hillarious! Dragged my freind along who hates horror flicks and even she left with a smile on her face. Best bit...every scene with Nathan and Gregg Henry in. Heres hoping the UK region 2 release comes out soon after you guys in the US get it and still has those fine sounding extra bits.

'Poor little thing. Never even saw the light of day, now its in showbusiness!'

Sounds like it was Eureka. It debuted last week on Sci Fi. The character is a divorced Federal Marshall and has a very bratty 13-14 year old daughter. The character is sheriff of a town full of genius scientists that work at a super secret (is there any other kind?)government facility. It was OK

The 2 hour pilot is on SciFi this afternoon according to my daughter.

Slither is very funny. Especially the Mayor. "You know Dr. Pepper is the only kinda Coke I like"

Here's another vote for SLiTHER.
You'll probably find yourself wishing
you'd seen it on the big screen, but
you'll be glad you have the Pause
function. There's stuff that goes by
so fast you're not sure what you've
seen. Other things you'd simply love
to savor.

Somewhere (should go look for it) there's
a photo of Nathan imitating Grant Grant's
horrible makeup. Highly effective (the
guy has a rubber face) -- I'd love to
have the two side by side.
