Recently watched the series on DVD and have to admit I am gutted they'll be no more.

Are there seriously no plans for more Firefly series ?

Honestly, it's posts like yours that give us hope. Every day, we get new browncoats onboard expressing the same sentiment. Eventually, there will be enough of us that another season/movie will be a reality.

There is a long drawn out explanation floating around somewhere as to the huge piece of red tape involved with another season. Ownership rights, etc.

Welcome! Read fanfiction, other threads, and spread the word about Firefly. There should be a kind woman named FollowMal wandering in soon who will give you your official browncoat. Wear it with pride. We do!

You think you know--what's to come, what you are. You haven't even begun.

The clip I saw of "Done the Impossible" said that there wasn't any ownership right issues; Joss asked Fox if he could have the rights and market it elsewhere and they said yes. Permaybehaps now Universal owns the rights since they are the ones who actually took him up on it, but I don't see how that's a problem. It's all just a matter of cost and making money.
