So I'm moving around here reading different threads, and someone mentions a Firefly convention in December, which I must have been living under a rock because I didn't know. It's in California, and since our move to Indiana, we've been incredibly homesick, so I figure what a perfect Christmas present, and I get all excited. I of course, didn't take the time to think about what it would cost.

I should have known I couldn't afford it. Two plane tickets as well as an extra $500.00 for admission to the convention, not to mention a rental car and hotel...

It's nobody's fault really, and since it had only been on my mind for I don't know, the last three minutes, one would think that I would just say "Oh well, maybe next year." But I'm not.

This is a weird thing this show is doing to me.

Would it be affordable if you drove? I'm thinking I'll probably drive.
The tickets are ridiculous, of course, but then I think about who is going to be there...

Hey - I feel your pain! I live in Australia and I'm pretty much totally broke so even the Buffy convention coming up later this year in my own home town of New Melbourne ..oh sorry, I mean Melbourne, is out of my budget at the moment!

I did manage to go to the screening of the BDM on 23rd June!!!!! Bliss to see it on the Big Screen!! (But that was much, much less expensive)

In the mean time take heart in all the new friends and family you have all over the 'Verse! I'm loving it - and I have faith that our turn will come!!

Don't worry, it's perfectly reasonable to be upset at somehting like this. We all love Firefly, so having to miss anything involving Firefly=devastation. Don't worry, maybe a convention will come closer to your own state.

Indiana is pretty close to me, so I feel your pain. It really sucks that there is only large conventions in the larger cities. I get so bummed at the fact knowing I just missed this event or won't be able to go to this event. It's frustrating to have such a love for a show and not be able to share it with anyone.

Luckily, you have found this place, and as I've come to learn very early on - this is the place to be.
