Quote: 7-14-06 SLiTHER SOUNDTRACK AND SCORE OUT NOW! I get more emails asking me when the SLiTHER DVD is coming out than anything else. After that, though, I get many, many inquiries about the movie soundtrack. I've been telling people it's coming out in October. I was wrong. Both the soundtrack and score are available NOW. We worked hard on the music for the movie, and I'm very proud of both. Slither Finale SLiTHER SOUNDTRACK AND SCORE TRIVIA: 1) Jane Jensen, who sings Saturday Night and Fast Girl USA, was the star of my first film, TROMEO & JULIET. 2) Simon Steadman is a musician and huge horror fan. He read the script and asked me if he could write a song for the movie. I told him I needed something to play over the opening city montage, that showed the despressing lives of the people of Wheelsy. He wrote Sad World in just a day or so. I f***ing loved it from the first time I heard it. 3) For the score, I told Tyler Bates I wanted something old fashioned, like Bernard Hermann, but filtered through a bit of punk rock. We also decided not to balk a bit from going big. 4) Because we couldn't afford a Los Angeles orchestra on the film, we used the Bratislava Orchestra. They were awesome, and played their fingers off. 5) Baby, I Love You, by Eric Ambel and the Yayhoos (who have a great new album as well), is the song most people talk about. It plays over the end credits and is better knowns as the "Leave me the **** alone" song. 6) But I must admit an equal fondness for Jonny Kaplan's Stick Around. It plays when Starla and Bill are out on the porch at the Wheelsy Saddle Lodge. I love it still, and I've heard it a million times.
