I finished the series last night. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys quirky dark comedies. It was worth the price (or a rental, depending on what you prefer).

Possible spoilers!

My favorite episode was Wax Lion. The first 15-20 minutes when the viewer gets an introduction to all the characters is absolutely hilarious. It has so many great scenes and one liners too. I loved the scene with Jaye sitting by the fountain after she does not get promoted to assistant manager, fiercely chewing on her peanut butter and jelly sandwich, sneering with contempt at Alec who got the assistant manager job. Absolutely hilarious without any spoken lines. The disgruntled customer who complained about the broken molding machine and wanted her discount. "Did you just say 'My ass'?". So funny. The confrontation at the hotel. I laughed so hard. Her brother. "She lives in a trailer. She's clearly disturbed. I mean......... clearly.".

Of course, since there is a best, there must also be a "worst". I was least fond of the episode "Wound up Penguin". No particular reason. It had its moments, but I just did not like it all that much. Though the scene in the bathroom was pretty amusing.

I loved the muses. I find myself repeating them to myself sometimes. "Girl needs a donut.". "Destroy" Ha! I think the donkey was my favorite one. The lion is pretty cool too.

The name "Eric" does not come up very often on TV, so it was a little weird to hear my name in the show. Not that I am complaining. It does not hurt to have someone like Jaye saying that she "loves Eric.".

Finally, a couple complaints. I think the Eric-Jaye romance was pushed so fast. I guess since the show had only 13 episodes produced, it is nice from the standpoint of getting a complete story but still. I am a sucker for bittersweet endings so I was a little disappointed with the way the series ended. I guess I wish it had stopped after the hostage situation at the store (a scene during which I actually started to cry a little bit).

Overall, like I said, very enjoyable and I would recommend it. Quite re-watchable too. Initially, I gave the series a 7/10 but after finishing all the episodes, I will agree with some other people who told me I would probably bump it up after watching the whole thing. A solid 8/10.
