What Language is that???

KANEMAN


What is the language used by our BDH in the show? Is it Chinese (if it is a real lang.). I only ask because in the "other forums section" there is firefly Chinese..

It's supposedly Mandarin Chinese, but between the phrases that the writers came up with and the pronunciation of the actors, it's really what Mandarin Chinese would be if written by Americans and pronounced by Canadians while living somewhere in a different universe 500 years into the future.

In the show Mandarin except for the ship’s “Bitching Betty” in Out of Gas, which was in Cantonese. In the movie one little bit of Russian shows up at the end of the Maidenhead Bar scene.
