I'm pimping a most shiny fic I found on LJ.

It's a Firefly/Doctor Who crossover - I'm warning you now - but it is so stylishly done I think all you guys will love it. Heavily centered on River - and (IMO) she's got the characterisation perfect. Not exactly lucid, but not OTT.

Just go read it!!!! I can almost guarantee you won't be disappointed.

Oooh! Thank you for recommending this! I really enjoyed it! Wow that writer does a good River! I've never read as good! See, this is why I tell people not to dismiss xovers as silly fluff. Sometimes they are just pure gold!

I was impressed with the depth of the Dr Who characters too. I enjoy the series but didn't think it was anywhere near as deep as Firefly. This makes me think it could be (in the hands of someone who knew what they were doing!)

I would have loved to leave a review for the author but I'm not a member and she had her anonymous reviews switched off. Ah well!

I've just one question, as I've popped over and noticed it's a 10th Doctor fic, and as one who lives on the wrong side of the Pond and who would like to remain spoiler-free for Series 2...any spoilers for that then?

If so, I'll just bookmark it and wait 'til CBC runs series 2 in the fall.

Apart from the lack of a certain character, and mentions of the Doctor as a God, which I don't really regard as spoilers - this is pretty much spoiler-free.

By that, I mean that you won't be spoiled for anything that happens at the end of series 27 (1) or in series 28 (2). Read it - I'm sure you'll be glad you did.
