Hey guys,

this is probably totally illegal, but is there any way I can capture jpgs from the DVD? I want to make a couple of t-shirts and get a couple of stills for a friend who's promised to make me an inara dress (woohoo!). Is is possible? I have PowerDVD and Windows Media Player. Thanks!

Well, if you have Windows Movie Maker (it's a crappy and unstable program, but it may have come standard with your machine [which it did with mine]), it can make jpgs from single frames.

It's just a matter of getting the DVD footage into something WMM can read, which I'll presume PowerDVD can do (I don't have that program, myself).

just press the print screen button on your keyboard, paste it in photoshop then save the pic!

Umm, Really easy. Play your DVD with PowerDVD. I use the same program. Hit Pause. You can use the advance screen button until you have the exact image you want. then look to the left on the PowerDVD control panel and hit the button that looks like a camera. It will automatically store the image in your "My Pictures" folder as PDVD_###.bmp the .bmp can be converted to .jpg if you have to have that format.
