Are we looking to get an animated version of Firefly?? With all the characters as forest animals and "Man" as the "reavers." lol

I do agree with some of the ideas already posted, but here's my list:

Zoe: Tiger
Wash: Flying Squirrel (makes their marriage problematic)
Kaylee: Golden Retriever
Jayne: Ape
Mal: Eagle
River: dragon (OK, she's psychic, so can't she also be a mytical creature?)
Simon: Spider - he can weave cobweb "bandages" ??
Book: Owl
Inara: Mink

Maybe they could do a "Bug's Life" version, with all the crew as insects who go to save an ant colony from grasshoppers... Sort of like their job in "Our Mrs. Reynolds." Then Inara would definitely be a butterfly. Maybe Jayne would be a ladybug, like the Denis Leary character who was always being mistaken for a girl...

OK, I've got to get off this tangent...
