i posted this in the serinity day sept 30 thread but it probably needs its own thread. sorry i am new to posting.

one important thing to note is that amazon tracks by orders not by items so if you want to move something up their ranking make four orders for one dvd not one order for five dvd's

I read this in an article about people trying to move a book up in amazons ranking the following is a quote from a blog talking about the article (nissley is the senior books editor at amazon.

POSTSCRIPT: By the way, York's article contains some useful advice: "We rank by orders, not by sales," Nissley says. "We only count orders — we count an order of 1,000 copies the same as an order of one." So if you're trying to goose somebody's ranking, be sure to place five orders for one book each instead of one order for five books.

But just keep in mind Universal counts the Copies!

I am still FOR buying from physical retailers which can lead to a more human driven awareness.

More executives, marketing guys, stock boys, etc. from various locations... creating that all powerful BUZZ we want. ...and I DO think Amazon's rankings are important too.
