Eugene Film Festival...can we get Serenity there?

Hey there!

Eugene, Oregon is having it's first annual Eugene Film Festival, May 12-14 2006.

I don't know how one goes about getting a film to play at a festival, so I'm hoping you wonderful Firefly/Serenity fans might have some ideas on how we can get either Serenity or Done the Impossible to show.

Eugene's a small town, so the local fan base wouldn't be large enough to have an impact. Any advice or help out there?

It's too late to get in this year, sadly. :(

Films have to be submitted by film-makers for the Eugene Film Festival, and there are some pretty strict conditions in place.

HOWEVER! There's nothing to stop us from working to get a Charity Showing at the Bijou for June 23rd, is there?
(I'd be far more likely to make it up there on the 24th.)

Eugene is a college town, and a liberal one at that. I'm betting there are far more Browncoats there than we suspect.

That idea for the Bijou isn't a bad one! I have no idea how to go about negotiating that.

You go talk to them and pitch them the idea. Of course, the Eugene Browncoats at one point were considering NOT doing one, so the'd just go to Portland for ours.

If I ever hear back from the preferred venue up here, that is. Heh.
