No, really; I want to ask the question that I thought the other thread was gonna be about. :)

Yesterday, a dear friend of mine showed me a site with a lot of excellent River art. I also saw a piece from Nr. 6 (or was it Nr. 8?) from Battlestar Gallactica; and I thought: "Oh yeah, I remember this; I used to like this, in my pre-FireFly days." But nowadays, truthfully, I'm just numb to other shows, it seems. All I want to see is FireFly, or the BDM, and things River related, of course. I've really lost interest in everything else.

Why is that? River? Yes, of course. But there's gotta be something behind this, causing this. It still baffles me. I've never before in my life been lost to something like this before. And I never figured myself for the type that really could be. And yet now I am.

Yeah, it's really annoying! I feel the same about books after reading Stephen King's Dark Tower cycle, there's just nothing that's gonna grip me like that again.

Looks like I'm gonna be playing a lot of computer games in the future.

Yes it's a real bummer,

The reason why everything else sucks is becuase most people can relate to the charactors and situations. Most people have experienced hard times, have loved and lost friends, have had a period in their lives that they can look back on as being special.

And then there is of course the real lack of intelligent SciFi. Very few scifi films or TV shows stir the emotions. I only recently stumbled upon the series and since watching it I still have a feeling of grief, like I have bumped into an old friend, chatted about old times and then parted in the knowledge that we will probably not meet again.

Odd, isn't it, how most things tend to pale in comparison now? ;p

(Plus now that they're axing Arrested Development... not really much reason for me to watch TV unless I want to splurge for a bigger cable package just to pick up SciFi Channel.)

I find myself watching random shows and thinking: "I could be watching Firefly right now..." ;p
