I recently heard a song by Godsmack called Serenity. I'm interested to know if anyone thinks there is a connection.

Best guess, no. The musicians of Godsmack aren't likely the types to enjoy a Joss Wheadon show, nor find any symbolism out of it, but the fact of the April 8th release date for the Faceless album(of which this song is on)does make one wonder, since the typical writing of an album is the around 6 months before the release, in this case about the time Firefly was running...

I brought this up in another post back when the CD first came out, including making a video, but apparently nobody was interested. By the way, a few of the lyrics on the link posted above aren't correct.
Oh well....
