new fan via bebop

Well, I'm sort of new on these threads. I got into Firefly/Serenity over Christmas break (saw the movie, then the episodes). I was anxious to see the movie mainly becuase of the hole in my life from not having a live action Cowboy Bebop movie. Needless to say, life has been good again "since i found Serenity." I always thought, even from seeing only previews, if anybody makes a Bebop movie, it should be Whedon and Co.

Yeah, I always thought Cowboy Bebop and Firefly were very similar. I love them both!

wow..funny enough, that's the sort sorta thing my husband and I were thinking.
We had just been loned all the Cowboy Bebop episodes and had finished them about a week before Christmas, and my husband askes for Firefly.
I totally saw the resemblance..in an off hand sorta way.
and I truly loved the Bebop...have you seen the movie? I still haven't and was wondering what folks thought of it.

yeah Bebop and Firefly both rock so much. and theres some lovely similarities, sometimes I even expect Mal to bust out some mad fighting skills like Spike does.

"Cowboy Bebop: Knockin on heavens door" is a really good movie, its what introduced me to the Bebop and gives a little insight to the ending of the series.

I thought the animated Bebop movie was great. I think of it as being the most elaborate episode they ever did, without turning it into a character backstory episode. It introduced new characters, had some primo music, and probably had the best action scenes from the series. It had its share of contemplative moments as well. I wish they would make a live action version. When I first saw Serenity I thought Sean Maher could play Spike, Jewel Staite as Faye, and Adam Baldwin as Jet. But that is all pretty far fetched I imagine.
