Newbie is me.

I watched an episode of Firefly when it first came out on Fox, but I didn't really care for it. I was so used to getting the backstory first since I had watched Buffy for so long. I thought "wow! A new series by Joss! The Genius that he is!" Sadly, I was disappointed by the couple of episodes of Firefly I did watch because I didn't understand what was going on. Fast forward 2 years. I hear that Firefly is being made into a movie. After seeing the AWESOME previews, I find that I can't wait to see it. I then watched all the episodes - in order, thank you SciFi. I thought it then to be such a cool show and dragged my roommate to see Serenity when it came to our small college town with one theater that has one screen. I ended up getting her hooked. Happily, I received the Firefly box set for Christmas and quickly bought up the Serenity DVD. Working on watching all the episodes for the second time through and I have watched Serenity a total of 3 times (Theater and DVD combined). Being a college student, I don't have the time to watch it gobs of times, but watch it whenever I can. I just can't help returning to the 'verse and getting a giggle out of Joss's wonderful humor - subtle and outright humor. Glad to do my part to keep Joss going and hopefully my little contribution will bring more stories from the 'verse.

Well then let me tell you the only thing you can do to contribute further than you have, you have to spread the word, tell everyone how good it is, let them see it's worth them buying the DVDs for themselves. The only way we get more is buy getting more people involved.

I'm sorry that you couldn't get into it on Fox, the bastards played it in such an on order that no one can understand what drugs they were on. We hope they were on drugs, anyone who would do that without something hindering them mentally should have been claimed by the forces of evolution long ago.
