I was visiting my friend in the hospital yesterday when he asked me a firefly related question he had been wondering. "Shoot," I said, sure I could answer whatever he was about to ask. He asked what the last names of all the main characters were. I looked at him stupified. I honestly couldn't answer that. I knew River and Simon Tam and Malcom Reynolds, but I couldn't for the life of me remember any of the others. So my question to you guys are: what are the rest of their last names?

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

The name Warren is from an incorrect entry that was up on imdb.com for a long time so many people believe it is right, but it ain't.

According to the Serenity Visual Companion, which has the full script (and this is also in the deleted scene on the Operative's ship just after River's fight at The Maindenhead), Zoe's maiden name is given as Alleyne and her married name is Washburn (although Wash's memorial marker in the film spells it with an "e" at the end.)

Don't forget, Kaylee's full name is Kaywinnit Lee Frye. (Even mentioned in "Shindig")

You know, one thing has really bugged the heck out of me in regards to Wash's name. In one episode (I forget which one offhand. Blasphemy, I know!) Mal calls Wash "Jerry Lee".

I always thought his name was Jerry Lee Wash because I already knew Wash was either his nickname or his last name.

It totally threw me in the movie to suddenly have his name become "Hoban Washburne"

Anyone else notice this or bugged by it?

This is one that's been discussed before. I think it was pointed out that the line was probably "Good work Kaylee" but Nathan slipped and started to say "Jewel" instead of "Kaylee", and it came out sounding like "Jerry Lee"
