Who lives in or around Winnipeg, Manitoba? Who wants to start a Browncoat chapter?

Pretty much what I just said in the title, I'm wondering if there's anybody who lives in, or around Winnipeg, Manitoba. I currently go to the University of Manitoba, and am currently looking for those interested in starting up a local chapter here in good ol' Winterpeg.

There are quite a few people at the University who love Firefly & Serenity, but I'm looking for those who can handle running the organization along with myself (and those who just want to have fun).

If you're interested in general, that's fine too; the more the merrier! If you do not go to the U of M, who cares!?! If there's a will, there's a way! We've done the impossible (well, not me exactly because I became a fan with Serenity, but you know what I mean), and this could help spread the word of the 'verse here.

What I have in mind isn't just watching Firefly and Serenity (but would include it very much), but also group functions, BBQ's in the warm months, peer support for those in school and need help with studying, fundraising for local charities through meetings, contests and give aways, make new friends, and just about anything else you could think of.

If you don't mind having someone from the province next door (Saskatchewan), I'm game!

Tonight, I created an on-line e-mail group for all Browncoats to come and join, it's found the following ways:

Go to http://www.smartgroups.com/groups/Browncoats_United and join the Group or else new members can email Browncoats_United-subscribe@smartgroups.com and I'll add you to the list!

I hope that this is helpful, I know a lot of members here might be interested, and it would also be a way to let others know about this website (because I know we could have a few more over here, LOL).
