I have to admit this show completely escaped my attention during it's breif TV run. Not a fan of Buffy, I guess if it did pass through my stream of consciouisness I didn't notice it. It was not until I saw the film, actually saw the poster for the film (was standing at my local cinema, contemplating what movie to see), that I became even minimally aware of this series. The film blew me away and after Netflixing the first disc and being even more blown away by the series itself, I purchased the DVD's of the series, consumed them like a madman and then felt this deep sense of total loss...almost anger that the life of this amazing and wholly unique science fiction experience was cut short.

How did it get by me in its original run? Who is to blame for this travesty? If Stargate and Xena can survive on television ad nauseum, why did Firefly have to die?

I was totally watching on Fox from day one...
I had discovered BtVS and Ats and I knew I loved Joss' writing...
it was tough going, since the show was pre-empted a lot (I would be calling the local Fox station in the middle of the night 'will you run it after the game?')

I loved the show but I didn't get involved in the fandom (and I didn't join this website) until after the DVDs were released....
THEN I really became obsessed, and ended up buying more than a dozen sets of Firefly DVDs for family and friends (all of whom went to see 'Serenity' in the theaters...even tho they didn't make it to the Advanced Screenings like I did).

I spotted Firefly as a "keeper" the second I saw it in TVGuide's fall preview issue. I have had very few favorite TV shows that I watch faithfully: X-Files, Futrama, Farscape (you probably see a pattern here, don't you), so Firefly really caught my eye, And, I was NOT dissappointed. It is truly unique and deserves a place on TV ad nauseum. I only hope that there will be new episodes and/or movies to quench this overwhelming lust for MORE(!)

I saw one of the few ads Fox ran before the series started. I was interested immediately. Then, when I was watching, and Crow got kicked into the engine...LOL...it was so over for me.

Love the X-Files - own all nine seasons and have watched the entire series beginning to end about three times now (takes about six months watching a handful of eps a week) and it has yet to get old. Can only imagine having as many seasons of Firefly.
