Several weeks ago I posted my expectations for the success of Serenity in Germany. I hoped but didn't thought that it would be a great success because of many reasons. Well, last week it finally has been released. The first shock struck me on last saturday. I didn't saw Serenity on the program of our local cinema. So I asked and I was told that they don't show it yet, because almost every screen was needed for (what else

) Harry Potter. So far so bad...

Today the Box Office results have been released... and Serenity only came on 5th place with 50.000 viewers, which is not very much. Usually a movie becomes sucessful at about 1 to 1.5 million viewers in Germany (Harry Potter had almost 6 million viewers until now).

The 4 top-movies before Serenity are at 1 of course Harry Potter (tough rival). 2nd is "The Excorcism of Emily Rose", 3rd is "In her Shoes" and 4th a German Christmas movie for kids. All of these have a lower rating than Serenity on imdb.com ...

Well anyway... I'm going to watch it next week and do my best to convince my friends (who mostly never heard of Firefly before) to do it, too.

MIRAND

In the three times i was in the fullest had 6 other ppl. Maybe 5 pm was not the best time.
The nearest Cinema with the Original Sound is 2 hours away from me :( but with the german voices it was still great. Lost some jokes in the translation.

SIGGGY

I saw it in Australia at opening with a German girl, she loved it and hopefully has told her friends. They will all go to see it I'm sure.
