So, any reports on the status of the ship - that is, the set of Serenity? I mean, she'll not be torn down this time, one hopes...

Of course, I guess it doesn't matter all that much at this point; they've built 'er twice so far, they can do it again, I suppose.

I've seen a quote somewhere that the set was stored after filming at Joss' request. Our 10th character is signed for the sequels!

It actually does matter whether they stored the set or not (which I assume they did). Because, If they do make a sequel (buy tickets, people!), they will have the sets already built. Thus, it will be cheaper, they won't need (quite) as much of a budget, and Uni would be more willing to greenlight something.
