Hey everyone! I saw the pre-screening here in sydney last night! It blew my mind! no spoilers here though so dont worry. Actually was intested to see what anyone else had to say about some of Joss's comments last night in the Q&A after the showing.

He seemed really tired but the comments that concerned me were
1. he stated there would DEFINATELY not be a reincarnation of the show (firefly).
2. he also stated that he doubted that many people would see the movie and didnt seem to hold out great hope for the firefly/serenity franchise as a whole!

AM I THE LAST TO HEAR THIS NEWS!

Did I just get him on a really really jet-lagged and tired/pissed off day?. Was he joking or trying to evoke a reaction from the crowd?
Maybe I just heard him wrong!?

At least we now have a sense of closure thanks to the movie.

But we can always hold just a little while longer until our angels will appear. We'll show Joss that we're even mightier than he could predict and at least there will be sequels.

according to this transcript he does say mention sequels, but
But according to the transcript and from other interviews I've seen/read about he is hopeful for a sequel, but I guess he's being pragmatic.

edit: after reading transcript:

On the other hand I don't know if I would want sequels. It's kind of...comforting...being in the ether of unknown...of unresolution (yes it's a word). Having our heros living on in our hearts forever midstride, looking to the future instead of looking back at a closed chapter.

weird, I was just crusing that board. Yeh i get what he is saying but I am heart broken not to expect more firefly episodes!

Guess ill always have my box set and serenity DVD (when it comes out)lol.

Were there monkeys? Some terrifying space monkeys maybe got loose?
