Where's Ron Glass?

Ok, so after watching the trailer for Serenity for the umpteenth time, I noticed something. They mentioned that there were eight people on board Serenity. Last time I counted, there were nine. So I watched it again, several times, and was shocked to notice that Shepherd Book wasn't in it anywhere.

Did they write him out? Did Ron Glass decide he didn't want to do it? What's up? Does anybody know anything?

Shepherd Book is in the movie. A trailer can't show everything, or it would be the movie, not a trailer.

I could tell you, but then I'd get flamed for writing spoilers.

Yes, he's in the movie. I can say that, right? I just can't say why, or where he's at. There was some manner of worry about this back when the cast list first came out and he wasn't on it immediately. Not to mention the "Crew of Serenity" picture from the movie that doesn't have Book or Inara in it.

Whoops... that's not a spoiler, I swear. Don't light that blow torch - hey! Watch it!

Don't worry Ron Glass is very much in Serenity.

Where did you see anything that said there were 8 people on Serenity? I didn't get that from the trailer.

Most definitely in the movie. I think his first appearance on screen is one of my favorite visual moments in the film.
