Over at the quicktime site version 7 is now available for PC. so all us non-mac users can get a fancy eye poping new look at the shiny vid.

*sigh* Should have known that "public preview" is their way of saying "we know it sucks, but we made up a good excuse for now".

Performance is horrible and it's a pretty sad thing that some free open source software (mplayer) that has been available for a lot of platforms has a) been able to play their hd movs before their player even came out and b) is playing it relatively smooth, whereas the very same company delivers a player that turns their very own videos into a jerky mess.

Unless they will greatly improve the final version I'd stay away, especially if you already paid for QT6 Pro, which won't be Pro anymore after the update.
