Its David Newman doing the movie - I would be very suprised if there isn't a soundtrack CD.

yea, how come they couldnt get gred edmunson, the guy who did the music in the show to do it for hte movie? was it schedule conflicts or something?
andyways, i hope the new composer does the film justi ce. he's got big shoes to fill.

Joss has posted some stuff about the new composer's take on the score - sounds mighty fine - I think the reason Greg didn't get it was studio politics; he doesn't have a movie track record - they originally had Carter Burwell onboard, then he parted company with the production and Newman came on.

At the end of the day, I think it was a case that the studio wanted someone with more experience of movie soundtracks - perhaps had Firefly gone on longer they might have been willing to consider Greg.

America loves a winner!

W/so much crappy music and lame sound tracks already out there, it seems like a no brainer that there'd be a Firefly soundtrack. If nothing else, the sales of the DVD have shown a ready made market found in the Browncoats. It's what the folks want and it makes sense.
