NOOCYTE

Found this article in my on-going quest for high-quality images (or, dare I hope, actual BLUEPRINTS) of Serenity. Not that many images, but a really shiny account of the thinking that went into the design and lighting for the show. Much is over my head, but might be of interest for film/TV production afficionado(a)s.

What strikes me most about this article is the degree to which it allays my fears that fundamental design tweaking would be required, should Joss ever find a way to bring Firefly to the theaters. Most TV shows would suffer badly in a direct translation to a cinematic format (witness Star Trek: Generations, and the way the TV sets had to be lit REALLY DARK so they wouldn't look ridiculous when projected onto a movie screen. This is why, IMHO **SPOILER**

they had to wreck the ship **end spoiler**).

Firefly could really jump straight to the screen (with MAYBE some higher-res work on the FX shots), and David Boyd would be the man to light the thing.

Yadda-yadda. Anyway, here's the article.
