The description of Issue #2:

Written by Joss Whedon and Brett Matthews, art by Will Conrad, colored by Laura Martin.

Joss Whedon and Brett Matthews continue the journey of the brigands and outlaws that call the ship Serenity "home" in this second issue of the prequel to Whedon's Serenity-- the highly-anticipated feature film follow-up to his cult-hit TV show Firefly.

On the run and out of cash, the ragtag crew of Serenity take on a scavenger mission with the hopes of earning enough dough to disappear for a while. Little do they know an old enemy is scheming to remake their acquaintance with the help of some covert-operatives known only as the Blue Gloves.

This issue also features three covers starring a different Serenity crew member, each drawn by one of the hottest names in comics. This month--Tim Bradstreet, Jo Chen, and Joe Quesada.

32 pages, $2.99, in stores on Aug. 3.

Blue Gloves are back!
Old enemy! Who could this be? Niska? YoSafBridge? Jubal Early?

I'd have to go with Jubal, he's the only one that knows River is on board (well, unless something happens in issue #1).

MANWITHPEZ

Important people don't do field work.

Man that Kaylee cover is hot!!!

Kaylee: "What's so damn important about being proper? It don't mean nothing out here in the black."
Simon: "It means more out here. It's all I have..."

Isn't it, though? Definitely the one I'm picking up.

I'm definately picking up the Kaylee one for this one... Jo Chen's very good, she does most of the covers for Runaways, and they're always beautiful.

As to the old enemy... maybe Jubal, but could be Saffron or Badger - both of them saw River, even if just briefly, even if they didn't put it together right away, they may have done so later.

I thought about Badger, but I wouldn't consider him an enemy. Actually, wouldn't consider Saffron one, either. At least, not one vindictive enough to team up with the Blue hands group.

Who else do we have? Magistrate Higgins never saw River. Neither did Patience. Atherton? Never saw River but has enough connections and probably /really/ hates Mal.

*ponder*. It doesn't have to be someone we've seen before to be an old enemy....

RICKKER

As soon as they were offered in the Previews catalog. I made shure my local Comic Shop Owner was ordering all covers for all three books.
BTW local shop is Spy Comics located in Federal Way, WA. Been a comic book reader since I could read. Been a Firefly fan since day one. So far all the covers look excellent.
