Here`s an ideaa for those with any peer-to-peer software. Kazaa, Bearshare, etc.

Upload copies of the trailer but upload it as Starwars Episode 3 Secret Footage etc. - that way people will download it and the theory is that they will watch it.

Just an idea - especially as a lot of us out there discovered firefly by Kazaa and the like.

I just can't do it Zol. I mean, I want to...Fight the Machine and all, but what if I downloaded a Serenity trailer, and it turned out to be a bunch of Star Wars guys yanking my chain...I just can't...

But, by all means, Fight Lucas any way you want...Then again, he seems like a nice guy...Do what you think is right!

It is a pretty funny geurilla marketing tool, I'll admit...

i dont know.. "the flanneled one" sounds like one nasty demon in the buffyverse.. might be also known as "the tinkerer" or "destroyer of fond memories"..

at the same time i would find it highly annoying to look for x and get y, maybe even to the point where i harbour negative feelings for y, especially if it happens more than once.

Get a 700mb DivX DVD rip of "Serenity" (the first episode of Firefly!) and rename it "Star Wars Episode 3 SCREENER DIVX.avi"

Trust me, you'll get a lot of downloads...

Well, yes. Given that the Serenity trailer is going out with Star Wars Episode 3, that's the idea (wonder why the word "Empire" is used for "Alliance" in the trailer?).

Also: Mal is being marketed as the new Han Solo (incase nobody noticed).

And none of this is a bad thing. We need more people to goto the cinema for Serenity than there are browncoats for this movie to be successful. And that means getting a new audience.
