I find it extreemly ironic that tonight, in the Firefly slot, Fox is broadcasting a MASH special.

In the first miniutes of the special they discussed the fact that MASH had horrible ratings the first year... in main part to being dumped in a terrible time slot. MASH, possibly the most popular TV show EVER, was almost cancelled during the first season. It only became popular when they played the re-runs over the summer and was a hit with season two.

Cheers was the same way.

How many other great shows have been lost to the 'first season' syndrome?
