Sign up on boards with a Firefly-friendly username. BrowncoatFan, Serenity2005, etc. ABC has a board for Lost, which probably gets a lot of eyeballs so why not send a message (however subtle or not) across?

I did some more thinking (happens) and now I think if you try this you should start by signing up as Serenity2005 right from the start. If that username is taken then move onto BrowncoatFan (after that whatever Firefly related). SerenityMovie might be a little too in your face ("maybe that's the point of guerilla marketing?!" said the other voice in my head). Could be negative consequences though for being too obvious.
I didn't think I was much of a board user, but before I knew it I was posting or reading 5 different, unrelated boards. With the diversity and number of people here I'm sure we could get Serenity2005 seen on a large number of boards by a lot of diverse people.

Shiny idea Pizmobeach!

I post on other, non-Firefly related boards. I know, blasphemy right?

Anyway, I have a Firefly related screen name on each of those boards and also use my sig line from this board on all of those. It has gotten me several inquiries into the origin of the quote, which has gotten me to talking about the show, the DVD set, and the impending BDM.

Another tactic is to wear Firefly shirts all the time. I am constantly wearing them! I get questions and compliments all the time. It gives me an opening to talk about the DVDs and the BDM. Most of these people I never see again, but most go away interested.

While on the topic of guerilla tactics, I was thinking last night that it'd be worth starting an email campaign to Entertainment Weekly to get them to do some hardcore coverage of "Serenity" as we get closer to their Spring Movie Special and the movie's release date. Whatcha'll think?

Sounds like a good idea to me. Just be careful about too much hype for the BDM. Some people may decide not to go for fear of seeming too "dorky" or some other ridiculous excuse like that. But then, the BDM isn't for them anyway.
