CHECKEREDPAST

I'm looking to get together with some local Browncoats and have a little meeting about how we can try to spread the good word that is Firefly around our town. I'm a manager with Marcus Theatres, so I'm also trying to flesh out the possibility of screening Serenity for our little shindig. I also have wonderful access to an Ultrascreen, which I like to call the Big Damn Screen, and I for one cannot wait to see our movie on an 80 foot screen. I'd like to make this a big event, kind of a coming together of all the Browncoats in the area, so I encourage everyone in the area or with friends here to give me a shout and let me know if I should continue planning.

Well, if you want, you can come up here. Or you can try to plan your own screening. Universal has pretty cheap archive rental fees (about $150) and the theatre usually charges facility fees, but if 100 people go, it won't possibly be more than $5 a person. Talk to your local theatre. They love these kinds of shows, because they're extra revenue, and all big comanies like extra revenue. It'll be fun, I promise.

Keep me posted. I'm in the Milwaukee area.

I've done some promoting around these parts in the past. I'm planning my usual Firefly/Serenity contributions to the MPTV on-air auction fundraiser here in 2007. This will be my fourth year doing so.

You will also want to stop by: cantstoptheserenity.com I believe b!x is in the planning phase of the 2007 Serenity screenings to benefit Joss's favorite charity. Someone last year set one up in the Milwaukee area.

You might also try extending the invitation to the Chicagoland Browncoats. Occasionally, their outings have ventured as far north as the Safe House Restaurant/Bar in downtown Milwaukee.

If you have a screening of Serenity I will drive down from Hudson to see it. And I'll bring some people along with me. Should be fun!
