I'm sure this has been done and again in no shortage of times, but I missed 'em. So anyone tired of this need not answer. For them as never get tired of tellin it though, is there a moment in any particular episode that really stood out to you, said something unique and special, touched you deep down like, or even just stood out for no well understood reason? Mine was in the end of "Serenity" when Book was on his knees, crying, and pouring his heart out (one might almost say confessin) to Inara, and then there was a far shot with just kind of a silhouette of the preacher kneeling down and the companion (who many folk would call a sinner) reaching her hand out and placing it on his forehead. Total role reversal. That was something I ain't seen anywhere else, so kudos Firefly. Anyone else got a mind to share?

On a side note, while watching Pirates of the Caribbean 1 t'other day, I noticed something I had never caught before. Besides his unwillingness to give up in the face of all manner of adversity, his plottin' and possibly schemin', and his talent for winding up in sticky situations, Jack sparrow has one very important thing in common with our captain: his outlook on boats.
"Wherever we want to go, we go. That's what a ship is, you know. It's not just a keel and a deck and sails. That's what a ship needs. But what a ship is...is freedom."
--Capt. Jack Sparrow

I'd also have to say that another good (and well known) scene was the funeral scene from "The Message." I think the snow really helped, and I'm not sure the scene would have had as much force as it did without it. Can't explain why though.

Shiny

When River tells Simon she didn't think he would come for her, and when she tells him that he found her broken. WOW, the power in those scenes.

Blows me away everytime.

The scene in Out of Gas where Mal has repaired the engine and is trying to get to the red button to signal the shuttles is always tough to watch.Even thogh I know that everything turns out well,I can't help feeling his despair when he collapes from blood loss and shock just inches from the signal button.

"Dear Buddah, please bring me a pony and a plastic rocket..."

Yeah. To me one of the most powerful things in that episode(which is one of my favorites -- because I can't have just one!) is the music in that scene where everyone leaves and Mal is locking Serenity up tight and going to sleep in the cockpit. I remember hoping the day that i bought the Firefly soundtrack that that music would be included. It just speaks to me.

You were busy trying to get yourself lit on fire. It happens.

Objects in Space, with River's speech to Jubal, from "Don't belong," to "I'll just fade away." The way she says everything, and all the reactions and people's faces - especially Wash and Zoe - just tears at my heart.

Another good one is how throughout Out of Gas, the audience repeatedly hears the salesman say that if bought and cared for, it will last the rest of his life. And only at the end do we see that he was talking about a different boat and we can see Mal falling for Serenity.

I also love the scene at the end of Ariel, where Jayne is about to be sucked out through the airlock and says to Mal "Don't tell 'em what I done". Mal realizes that Jayne really does have a soul if he's ashamed of his actions and spares Jayne's life.Mal's line is also memorable; "The next time you decide to stab me in the back, have the guts to do it to my face"

"I cried like a baby..a hungry angry baby"
