Border security and immigration control

Medicare for all.
Cost savings by

Musk Unveils 'America Party' To Challenge 'One-Party System' That's 'Bankrupting Our Country'

A lot of name- calling between Bannon and Musk, but so far no platform.

Well the BBB was an abomination.

So clearly, we need to do more than just destroy the Democratic Party.

I don't see anything I disagree with on your platform. I will be actively voting against anyone who voted for the BBB going forward, which now includes JD Vance. They'd better start looking for who they're going to run after Trump because Vance just cooked his chances for the Presidency when he broke that tie, even if he doesn't know it yet.

I could see voting for a Vance - Gabbard ticket.

The last big push for a third party was Ross Perot, with the Reform Party, during Clinton's Presidency. Perot was against NAFTA. His characterization of its effect on American jobs was "that giant sucking sound". And how right he was! But he was warned off of running when (he said) the CIA threatened his daughter's wedding. Sounded pretty lame, but Perot had actually worked as a contractor to defense and intelligence, and successfully exfiltrated two employees from Iran, so I think he knew what was what, and the threat was more dire.

Musk's vision could be a technocratic dystopia, with digital currency and all.

I think Vance was the obvious choice up until he made that tie-breaking vote on the BBB.

Now... If there is a undeniable turnaround for the fortunes of the poor and the lower working middle-class between now and November of 2028, his John Hancock on it is going to look like Genius in retrospect. But that's a big IF.

The Lefty media lies about a lot of thing every day, but they're not lying about the Medicaid. Republicans are lying when they say that it will not be gutted. They may not in be pulling money out of that cookie jar outright, but because of how the infrastructure of our country is built from the ground up (employees to agencies, and all the logistics in between), there is going to be much higher tax burdens on states which would force a raise on all sorts of taxes in the state to keep paying for medicaid at current levels, which means that will end almost immediately for many... whoever they can get away with cutting or forcing out with the new Federal rules in place to accommodate the withdrawal of Federal funding (that is now going to fund an additional $200 Billion per year for the military instead).

Constant re-checks and going back to the old ways of recertifying all the time via snail mail and fax machine on top of stressing that going over by a single hour can trigger a cancellation of your health insurance which you have to appeal via snail mail or fax... These are all things that aren't only a chronic source of undue stress, but are simply above the capability of a lot of people to even do without a lot of help.

There will be millions of people who are insured right now that will not be several years from now.

This is obviously why they're waiting until December 2026/January 2027 to start forcing the work requirements, so nobody is feeling any of that pressure until after the mid-term elections. That's smart. It buys them 2 more years because people won't understand what happened until it actually starts effecting them or somebody they care about. And some of the worst changes to Medicaid won't happen until right after the next Presidential election. I guess that would buy them another 4 years if they somehow still manage to get reelected in 2028, which would now require a huge and meaningful turnaround for the USA and more than 3 more years of obvious forward progress and an increase in the quality of life for the average US Citizen.

Whole lotta ifs...

I don't think Vance wanted his signature on the BBB, and I don't think that Trump wanted it either.

They "won" on this one, but now they own it in a way they wouldn't have, had they had enough Senate votes to get it cleanly through without intervention by Vance.

Now they're all in.

All we can do is sit back and see what happens.
