He must be really pissed off at those folks in Indiana, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Tennessee, et cetera, since he sent all those big-a*S tornadoes to tear up their towns and kill 'em. I wonder just what sinful thing they all did to deserve it. Did they vote for a Kenyan for President? Maybe worship the Koran instead of the true religion? Maybe let their women have birth control and abortions, not to mention rights? But I'm glad the local Tea Party groups have stepped up to help their neighbors, and haven't asked the evil, intrusive, liberal federal government for help and money to fix their purely local problems. I'm sure all their Second Amendment approved guns will save them in this crisis.

OH, WAIT!!!--- This Christianity-approved message only applies when something bad happens to liberal, sinful folk like Californians and moderates from Massachusetts and New York. NEVER MIND---

That was a lame, insensitive and thoughtless attempt at humor.

But I'll not call for any boycott of you, or your views. And I'm not full of outrage over your comments, mock or otherwise.

I kinda wonder just who it is that you think will find this sort of stuff funny, as so many have lost their lives, and so many more have lost their homes, businesses and schools...

Oh well. As you were.

Gettin' old, but still a hippie at heart...

I, too, find it kinda inappropriate, tho' I get the message and it's appropos. Bearing in mind how many things the right has claimed to be "God's retribution" (including the Haiti disaster), what's sauce for the goose...

Still, I'm uncomfortable with it, and definitely don't want US to be like them in our thinking. Or even joking about it.

Pat Robertson said that the hurricanes that hit Florida back in the late 90's were gods doing, for Disney ALLOWING gays into their theme park.

Quote:

I would warn Orlando that you're right in the way of some serious hurricanes and I don't think I'd be waving those flags in God's face if I were you.

This is not a message of hate; this is a message of redemption. But a condition like this will bring about the destruction of your nation. It'll bring about terrorist bombs, it'll bring earthquakes, tornadoes, and possibly a meteor.

There was a meteor, off the coast of Florida, that caused lots of destruction.

Of course, that was about 65 million years ago... Ok, that's pretty far off the coast, but still.

Maybe God's™ timing is really, really off ?

God ala Rev V.W.:

When God destroys Sodom & Gomorrah, L.A. & San Francisco, He does it in wrath to destroy the sinners.
Let it be a lesson to sinners everywhere.

When God destroys the Faithful, He does it in Love. Those who die are with Him in Heaven. Those who live
will have their faith tested and strengthened.

The righteous can think this way without skipping a beat.

Personal responsibility is the Truth.
Self determination triumphs over reaction.

"We'll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false." -- William Casey, Reagan's presidential campaign manager & CIA Director (from first staff meeting in 1981)

Well, it can't have anything to do with climate change, warmer air holding more energy potential, etc., so it MUST be "god", right?
