Not sure what this means. Sounds like it means that a fair amount of evolution theory written recently was all based on an erroneous assumption, but I'm open to interpretations from the crowd.

I personally found the "all life is post snowball earth" theory troublesome because it forced us to discard previous theories of early evolution resulting in more confusion, and an abundance of unified theories.

I guess my overall take on this would, at first glance, be to see just how far off course science can get from one erroneous assumption.

That's what a ship is, you know - it's not just a keel and a hull and a deck and sails, that's what a ship needs.

...some scientists thought snowball earth wiped out life? Uh, then how did we come out of a snowball earth?

Don't think they thought that one through.

EDIT: Ah, after reading the article, I think what was meant is that scientists have to rethink when multicellular life arose. But the article is very vague and not informative.
