Keep the Shiny side up

Would anyone here support a local, State, or Federal amendment or law that would allow folks to vote for "None of the Above" in elections, and if a plurality voted that way, would require a new election with new candidates?

I realize that this is not in the least likely. Just wondering.

I'd like to see it tried in some smaller races to see how it works and see what unforeseen trouble pops up (i.e., to see if the system can be "gamed" with this kind of election).

AN idea worth exploring, yes.

DALEK!

Yes, I would support that. I also like the idea of ranking candidates.

Gettin' old, but still a hippie at heart...

I'd certainly like it, but as others have mentioned, on the lower levels first to iron out the kinks.

Oh then this'll entertain you.

Chelsea City Council election: 3 open seats and no one's filed petitions to run

I can just see how it'll go if no one does run, the remaining City Council members looking at each other all aghast - "Ok, now what ?!".

Local politics around here are a lot more "fun", one could say, certainly a helluva lot more screwball, than most.
