I think it is important to be aware of all the facts before making a choice for our next president - IMO that was not the case in the last two elections - once again IMO - Bush was elected primarily by the use of smears and outright lies about his opponent - (something that seems to work well with the the great unwashed - but IMO is far below the dignity of the office of president of the united states) -

Yesterday, when asked how many homes/residences he owned, Senator McCain could not remember - (it's 10, valued at over $13M) and yet his campaign has tried to paint Senator Obama as an elitist....

All I'm saying here, is that it would be a good thing to learn the facts about a candidate and base your vote on the facts that you believe to be true instead of listening to the talking heads and political pundits who are being paid to spread a particular agenda.

I have a vote and I'm not afraid to use it!

Yeah, I thought this was one well put in support:

If I remember right, in 2000 McCain earned the interesting distinction of being the Republican Democrats would be most willing to vote for per news polls. His capitulation to the Bush/Cheney/Rove leadership of the GOP might have won him points in the GOP but lost him a lot of independent support. McCain is currently no "maverick." He now has "GOP" clearly branded on his hindquarters. There's nothing wrong with that. Just don't pretend to be a "maverick" when you're not. Kudos to McCain for his comeback and presumptive winning of the nomination. To the author of this article, thank you for your service, both military and civilian. It is no surprise you continue to serve your country with integrity.

This was an opinion piece, I'll give you that Geezer, but the person, (Phillip Butler), writing the article is someone who has known McCain through the Navy Academy and on into the military and was in the same POW camp with him, (actually being imprisoned about 2 year longer than McCain), so I'm thinking that he knows what he is talking about.

As far as the 29 pages of comments - they are just that... no real substance. I didn't see one that claimed to have the same relationship to McCain as Dr. Butler.
