FINN MAC CUMHAL

My favorite Onion article is the one where they argue that Babies are stupid. It’s so morbid and offensive. It was reporting on a fictitious scientific study in which they subjected human infants to various conditions with other animals as control. In one case, they reported that they left an infant and (I think) a puppy out in the rain. The result was that the puppy ran off to shelter and the baby drowned. So the conclusion was the babies are stupid. That’s so wrong.

I’ve never stopped laughing about that. I haven’t read it in years, but just the idea brings tears to my eyes.

Nihil est incertius vulgo, nihil obscurius voluntate hominum, nihil fallacius ratione tota comitiorum.

Nothing is more unpredictable than the mob, nothing more obscure than public opinion, nothing more deceptive than the whole political system.
