Yes it does. Florida is trying to circumvent established party rules in order to exaggerate their influence over the nomination process. After that they really shouldn't get a say.

Does anyone really think that Democrats will disenfranchise the delegates of a large swing state, whether it's Florida or Michigan?

The DNC is powerless. All it has is bluster. And as soon as we have a nominee, the first thing that person will do is rescind any such decision.

Frankly, I'm glad someone is doing something to slow or stop the endless shift of primaries earlier and earlier. Good for them.

Florida Republicans had plenty of advance notice that this would run into problems; clearly they decided to 'play politics' and see if they could make a mess for Democrats.

Say "NO" to more early primaries!

It's almost a non-issue anyways. By the time of the convention the nominee is already known, it's just a ratification show. The main impact of early primaries is the momentum in succeeding primaries the winner gains, and Florida probly cares more about that than actual delegates. 'Course, considering how FUBAR'd Florida is, a national primary day seems like a better idea...
