I want to send magazines to troops overseas...

so I have this beautiful collection of nice magazines:
SFX
Buffy
Angel
and I hate to just recycle them....
so I was thinking I could send them overseas as reading material,
but it turns out that this is almost impossible to do now!
Evidently there has been so much advertising and crap sent to the military,
that they no longer want to deal with this stuff.
I can't find a single USO site that will take anything.

I can find some religious sites...but I kind of think they wouldn't want genre magazines.

So what do I do? How can it be done?
Any suggestions?

I know we all donated to getting Firefly DVDs sent over,
and I thought that that was a huge success.
I hate to just give up.

I correspond and send stuff (sometimes really WEIRD stuff) to soldiers who have no close family or friends to write to them, doesn't take much effort, and makes em feel maybe a little less alone in the world.

By all means, feel free, while Maxim is a big hit amongst the troops, something a bit off-beat often tends to make a huge hit with them.

Case example, sent one troop a yo-yo a while back, now half his damn company has one to amuse themselves - you never quite know..
