Yeah.

I really resent the Democrats right now.

They couldn't just be happy with winning and leave things where they were. Always this forward march toward "progress", which starts to look more and more regressive every year that passed.

Once they banned smoking in public spaces and then legalized Gay Marriage several years later, they won it all. Everything they ever wanted.

But activists gotta stay active. Especially when so many of them were on the Public Payroll.

And then they just made up ever-increasingly insane grievances and pushed those in your face 24/7 and called you bad names if you didn't agree with every lie they told and deranged things they did. Meanwhile they were getting so high huffing all of their own bullshit that they completely forgot about their core base and so-called values, with their politicians unironically telling black people that they aren't black if they don't vote Democrat AND FUCKING NORMALIZING THAT EXTREMELY RACIST BEHAVIOR WITHOUT HAVING A FUCKING CLUE.

I'm honestly afraid at where we might be 20 years from now if there is no Democrat party, or at least none that anyone takes seriously for the next 2 decades.

I still remember where we were headed under GWB. Our local police were being militarized on top of all the personal freedoms that were stripped away going on 25 years ago now.

The Democrats are on a hard downswing now, but that's after the most insane lurch to one side that our country has ever seen. I'm really worried about just how far an over-correction we may be in for this time. I'll probably be dead by the time swings back the other way and the Democrats take it ever further to that extreme again.

It's not as much to worry about if you're really downsizing the Federal government, but I won't really believe that's actually happening until there is some proof. Even if I genuinely believed without a doubt that's what Trump himself wants, I don't honestly believe for a second that the people really pulling the strings would allow him to just make that happen.

I'm so cynical at this point that I'm sure they'd just straight up kill Trump if he continued to press for that against their wishes.

I think in the end, there's just going to be a lot of noise and a decent handful of people who are made an example of and paraded around. Maybe DEI truly dies too, which would be nice. But short of a few token closures here and there, and probably removing any new offices that sprouted up under the Biden* Administration, I don't expect there to be much of a downsizing of our Federal Government at all.

I guess we'll just wait and see.
