Quote: Ballistic Missiles May Have Been Used In Huge Strike On US Base In Iraq Update(1355ET): Details have continued trickling out and are scant, but by all accounts the Saturday attack on Al-Asad airbase in Western Iraq, which houses US forces, was a big one. Reuters cites an official who said "the base was hit by ballistic missiles but he left open the possibility it was struck by rockets." This has led to some speculation that ballistic missiles could have been fired on the US outpost from Iranian territory. But Reuters also notes, "Two security sources in Iraq and one government source said the base was hit by multiple rockets fired from inside Iraq." One regional analyst has gathered sources to detail the following...

Some 90,000 troops are due to join the Steadfast Defender 2024 drills that will run through May, the alliance's top commander Chris Cavoli said on Thursday. ... The last exercises of a similar size were Reforger - during the Cold War in 1988 with 125,000 participants - and Trident Juncture in 2018 with 50,000 participants, according to NATO....

SECOND: hat is the entire point that Russians don't want to understand or else they would not be acting today as they have habitually acted for centuries: killing tens of millions, ...
Quote: ... enslaving more, and stealing their land.
Quote: SECOND: The USA has spent many $trillions to build an H-bomb delivery machine to destroy Russia and hasn't used it because of American politics, not because of constant Russian threats to nuke the USA. [DEFENSIVELY, OR AS A RETALIATORY STRIKE- SIGNY] Russians don't seem to understand that Mutually Assured Destruction is not protecting them from American nukes. Russia is being protected because Presidents are worried about their political party being reelected. Repeating Hiroshima on Moscow is a 100% guaranteed way to lose the next election. The aftermath of a nuclear war? Nuclear Winter? The Road Warrior scenario of a ruined Earth? Worries about that are secondary to being reelected, but politicians don't want to admit that they care less about the end of the world (EOTW) than about the next election.
Quote: SECOND: If the politicians cared about EOTW, they would make climate change the top priority, but nowhere do politicians react that way because the enormous expense to immediately prevent climate change would mean they don't get elected. Reelection is the top priority, not preventing the EOTW.

An unspecified number of American military personnel were reported injured, but none were said to have been killed.

Quote:WASHINGTON, D.C. — As tensions between the federal government and 25 red states over securing the border continued to stoke fears of another Civil War, President Biden cleverly distracted a concerned American public by announcing the start of a new World War. "It's time to bomb Iran!" said the President to a bowl of melted ice cream on his nightstand. "Those whipper-snappers have been living on borrowed time ever since they chased me and the boys around the pool with switchblades. And if that doesn't do the trick, we'll bomb Russia and China as well. Not a joke!" Many critics who overheard the conversation questioned the wisdom of such a move, but some in the Republican Party applauded the President's firm stance. Quote: 'Moment Of No Return' Imminent As Biden Has 'Decided' On Response, Says Iran Supplied Weapons Used In Attacks Tuesday, Jan 30, 2024 - 09:05 AM A "decision" has been made, apparently, with CBS reporting: "Biden tells reporters that he has decided on how to respond to the attack that killed US troops in Jordan." And Sky News writes, 'Moment of no return approaching' as Biden weighs retaliation for soldier deaths. Additionally, Biden said the White House sees Iran as responsible for supplying the weapons used in the drone strike on the Tower 22 base along the Jordan-Syria border [actually, most of area occupied by Americans is in Syria ... illegally. Only a few installations or just on the Jordan side, but Jordan didn't want anyone to know it was hosting USA troops*], an attack which also saw over 40 American troops injured. Admin officials have repeatedly asserted they do not seek wider war with Iran, even while direct accusations fly against Tehran, and there's talk of military 'options' and warlike threats go over the airwaves. ...because "pressure," writes Bloomberg: "US President Joe Biden faces intensifying pressure to confront Iran directly after the country’s proxies killed three American soldiers in a drone strike in Jordan over the weekend, risking precisely the wider regional conflict that he’s trying to avoid." "A person familiar with the US position, who asked not to be identified discussing private discussions, said it was clear that a strike — which also wounded at least 34 — would force a stronger response than what the US has done so far in the weeks," continues Bloomberg.
