Quote:You claim Hillary is a mass murderer. That is like claiming Condoleezza Rice, Secretary of State for Bush, is a mass murderer. All the blame for any murdering the USA did is Obama’s and Bush’s and their military and their Secretaries of Defense. The blame is not Hillary’s or Condi’s. Those two women didn’t give any kill orders and didn’t pull any triggers. It was the men who did the killing and ordering the kills.= SECOND

Quote:The killing has gone on and on ever since Hillary left both the Senate and Obama’s cabinet. To make it as blunt as I can: the killing continues despite Hillary neither ordering more killings nor repeatedly pulling the trigger. It has always been the fault of Obama or Bush and their Defense Dept., never Hillary or Condoleezza Rice, the Secretaries of State.
Quote: Obama called Libya “a mess,” blaming, in part, the European coalition, led by British prime minister David Cameron, for not doing enough to re-stabilize the country after toppling Gaddafi. But he also blamed his own analysts for failing to understand the deep, pre-existing tribal divisions in Libya,
Quote: factions that regained strength without the presence of an authoritarian regime, turning the country into a hotbed of religious extremism and a breeding ground for ISIS. (Privately, Atlantic interviewer Jeffrey Goldberg reported, Obama called the Libya situation a “shit show” that proved the U.S. had no business attempting to govern the Middle East and North Africa.) Obama’s comments highlight a growing divide with Clinton as she seeks to win the Democratic presidential nomination. As secretary of state, Clinton was one of the strongest proponents of the U.S. intervention in the Libyan civil war against Gadhafi; according to the New York Times, the decision to commit military assets to ending the dictator’s 42-year-old regime was “arguably her moment of greatest influence as secretary of state.” While Obama has now pointed to that decision multiple times as one of his biggest regrets, he has also used the same logic to defend his reticence to intervene in Syria, where Clinton has urged a more militaristic approach, including a no-fly zone.

Over the past decade, Russia has boosted right-wing populists across Europe. It loaned money to Marine Le Pen in France, well-documented transfusions of cash to keep her presidential campaign alive. Such largesse also wended its way to the former Italian premier Silvio Berlusconi, who profited “personally and handsomely” from Russian energy deals, as an American ambassador to Rome once put it. (Berlusconi also shared a 240-year-old bottle of Crimean wine with Putin and apparently makes ample use of a bed gifted to him by the Russian president.) There’s a clear pattern: Putin runs stealth efforts on behalf of politicians who rail against the European Union and want to push away from NATO. He’s been a patron of Golden Dawn in Greece, Ataka in Bulgaria, and Jobbik in Hungary. Joe Biden warned about this effort last year in a speech at the Brookings Institution: “President Putin sees such political forces as useful tools to be manipulated, to create cracks in the European body politic which he can then exploit.” Ruptures that will likely multiply after Brexit—a campaign Russia’s many propaganda organs bombastically promoted. If Putin wanted to concoct the ideal candidate to serve his purposes, his laboratory creation would look like Donald Trump. The Republican nominee wants to shatter our military alliances in Europe; he cheers the destruction of the European Union; he favors ratcheting down tensions with Russia over Ukraine and Syria, both as a matter of foreign policy and in service of his own pecuniary interests. A Trump presidency would weaken Putin’s greatest geo-strategic competitor. By stoking racial hatred, Trump will shred the fabric of American society. He advertises his willingness to dismantle constitutional limits on executive power. In his desire to renegotiate debt payments, he would ruin the full faith and credit of the United States. One pro-Kremlin blogger summed up his government’s interest in this election with clarifying bluntness: “Trump will smash America as we know it, we’ve got nothing to lose.” Which a few of us guessed earlier as an explanation for why the Pointless Sisters keep bashing Hillary (she'll start a nuclear war - do you want that??) and saying more or less positive things about Trump. "I'll probably vote Trump" despite mountains of previous posts in direct opposition to almost everything he stands for. These accusations always come with insults for anyone who disagrees (tell me something new) and with faks ™ that the posters can't possibly know with the certainty they profess (tell me something else new). "She destroyed Libya!" None of these events were hers alone, and none of them were US alone. There are multiple peoples - greedy as f*ck for power - on many sides all hoping to feed at the same trough. I like the fact that Russia fears her. You know that if she weren't considered a "war monger" and she became president, the weak, less mature male leaders of the world would think they could manipulate her and frighten her, her being a girl and all. Good for them to worry about her popping off and blowing the sh*t out of them.

Quote:If I'm contemplating immigration policy, who am I supposed to be thinking about? Am I supposed to be thinking about preserving our culture, and being able to institute national economic and employment policies which won't be drowned by waves of cheap foreign labor flowing across the borders? Or am I thinking about "poor people everywhere"? Or am I thinking about my relatives in Mexico who would really like to come across the border? Or am I thinking about the companies that make greater profits from illegal, exploitable labor? Now, IMHO, we should be thinking about OUR CITIZENS' interests, as distinct from "poor people everywhere" and "my second cousin and his family in Juarez" and "Tyson, home of illegal chicken-pluckers". It's a mental twist to stop thinking about "those people out there" and start thinking about "these people in here", but that's what being a patriot and a nationalist means.

Quote:Originally posted by second: Quote:Originally posted by SIGNYM: Twelve minutes of Hillary lying You fell into my trap, again. This claim of unabated mendacity is particularly interesting, because while it is not the oldest defamation aimed at Hillary, it is the one that most effortlessly glides across partisan lines. Indeed, for a surprisingly large percentage of the electorate, the claim that Hillary is innately dishonest is simply accepted as a given. It is an accusation and conviction so ingrained in the conversation about her that any attempt to even question it is often met with shock. And yet here’s the thing: it’s not actually true. Politifact, the Pulitzer prize-winning fact-checking project, determined for example that Hillary was actually the most truthful candidate (of either Party) in the 2016 election season. And in general Politifact has determined that Hillary is more honest than most (but not all) politicians they have tracked over the years. https://thepolicy.us/thinking-about-hillary-a-plea-for-reason-308fce6d187c#.c6jqyzch6 Also instructive is Jill Abramson’s recent piece in the Guardian. Abramson, a former reporter for the Wall Street Journal as well as former Executive Editor of the New York Times, had this to say about Hillary’s honesty: “As an editor I’ve launched investigations into her business dealings, her fundraising, her foundation and her marriage. As a reporter my stories stretch back to Whitewater. I’m not a favorite in Hillaryland. That makes what I want to say next surprising. Hillary Clinton is fundamentally honest and trustworthy.” www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2016/mar/28/hillary-clinton-honest-transparency-jill-abramson

Quote: A voluminous 237-page document that appears to be the Democratic Party’s comprehensive plan to defeat Donald Trump has been leaked online. The publication of the document closely follows a report this week that Russian hackers successfully penetrated the Democratic National Committee. For a look at the entire document, see here. http://thesmokinggun.com/sites/default/files/assets/djtdncgucc.pdf Embedded metadata within the document indicate that it was created by a Democratic strategist named Warren Flood on December 19th, 2015. Gawker, which obtained a copy of the document, stated that it had been forwarded to them by “Guccifer 2.0,” a name used by a now-imprisoned Romanian hacker who hacked American politicians in 2013. The hacker who emailed Gawker asserted that the document in question was “just a few docs from many thousands I extracted when hacking into DNC’s network,” adding that he also had “about 100 Gb of data including financial reports, donors’ lists, election programs, action plans against Republicans, personal mails, etc.” The “Donald Trump Report” was ahead of the curve, as at the time it was compiled none of the GOP primaries had been held and there was no certainty that Trump would be the GOP nominee. The document encompasses seven different approaches to dealing with Trump: 1. “Trump has no core”: The document asserts, “One thing is clear about Donald Trump, there is only one person he has ever looked out for and that’s himself. Whether it’s American workers, the Republican Party, or his wives, Trump’s only fidelity has been to himself and with that he has shown that he has no problem lying to the American people. Trump will say anything and do anything to get what he wants without regard for those he harms.” 2. Trump is running a “divisive and offensive campaign”: The document states, “Donald Trump is running a campaign built on fear-mongering, divisiveness, and racism … Trump’s campaign rallies have become a reflection of the hateful tone of his campaign, with protestors being roughed up and audience members loudly calling for violence. 3. Trump is a “bad businessman”: The document notes, “(Trump) has repeatedly run into serious financial crises in his career and his record raises serious questions about whether he is qualified to manage the fiscal challenges facing this country … his company’s record of forcing people from their homes to make room for developments and outsourcing the manufacturing of his clothing line to take advantage of lower-wage countries like China and Mexico. His insight about the marketplace has proven wrong many times… Trump’s record of irresponsible and reckless borrowing to build his empire – behavior that sent his companies into bankruptcy four times – is just one indication of how out-of-touch he is with the way regular Americans behave and make a living” 4. Trump champions “dangerous & irresponsible policies”: His “rhetoric is dangerous – but his actual agenda could be a catastrophe.” 5. Trump is the “misogynist in chief”: “Through both his words and actions, Trump has made clear he thinks women’s primary role is to please men. Trump’s derogatory and degrading comments to and about women, as well as his tumultuous marriages, have been well publicized.” 6. Trump is an “out of touch” member of the elite: “His plans would slash taxes for the rich and corporations while shifting more of the burden to the shoulders of working families … His description of the “small” $1 million loan that his father gave him to launch his career is proof enough that his worldview is not grounded in reality. 7. Trump’s “personal life,” including “Trump’s Ex-Wife Accused Him Of Rape.” The DNC responded to the leak by claiming that it didn’t not reveal any financial, donor, or personal information, according to The Washington Post, but the user who transmitted the files to Gawker responded, “DNC chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz said no financial documents were compromised. Nonsense! Just look through the Democratic Party lists of donors! They say there were no secret docs! Lies again! Also I have some secret documents from Hillary’s PC she worked with as the Secretary of State.” Several lists of donors, with email addresses and donation amounts, were sent to Gawker. Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin’s spokesman, told Reuters, “I completely rule out a possibility that the [Russian] government or the government bodies have been involved in this.” The Trump campaign insisted that the DNC itself leaked the document: NEW - Trump statement on Gawker report of alleged DNC oppo file - "we believe DNC did the 'hacking" pic.twitter.com/Euwlko9Fex
Quote:I witnessed firsthand the Clintons' personal and professional dysfunction: So consumed were they by scandal, so intent on destroying their real or imagined enemies, that governing became an afterthought. The First Couple wasted days obsessing over how to "kill" a forthcoming book (one alleging that Bill Clinton's mother ran a brothel) or in squashing yet another tabloid revelation. Their machinations and their constant damage control diverted them from the nation's real business. Good people like Leon Panetta, Betty Currie, and Evelyn Lieberman had to pick up the slack and bear it for as long as they could. I saw how the Clinton Machine's appalling leadership style endangered law enforcement officers, the military, and the American people in general. And with Hillary Clinton's latest rise, I realize that her own leadership style—volcanic, impulsive, enabled by sycophants, and disdainful of the rules set for everyone else hasn't changed a bit. Though portrayed as the long-suffering spouse of an unfaithful husband, whose infidelities I personally observed or knew to be true, the Hillary Clinton I saw was anything but a sympathetic victim. Those loyal to her kept coming back for her volcanic eruptions.
