Calling all DFW Browncoats!

If you're a Browncoat in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, we have a great opportunity to promote Serenity in what is (almost literally) the 11th Hour.

FenCon will be happening the weekend before the national release of Serenity, and it's a great place to hand out flyers, wear Firefly tee-shirts, and get lots of people excited about our Big Damn Movie.

To help in that effort, the Bedlam Bards will be performing both Renfolk music and Firefly filk at FenCon.

When: Noon, Saturday, September 24th
Where: Holiday Inn Select at North Dallas (located just northeast of
the I35 and 635 intersection

A day pass to the convention is only $20 at the door, and weekend passes are only $30 if you order before September first ($35 at the door).

In addition to our performance, the convention will feature a number of Hawkwood alumni, including October Country and former members of
the Ravens. Filk legend Leslie Fish will be a Guest of Honor. Also, there will be a plethora of sci-fi and fantasy authors there, including David Gerrold, the author of Star Trek's famous "Trouble with Tribbles" episode and a contributor to _Finding Serenity_.

Not only is this a great opportunity to promote the BDM, but it's also a chance to show the con organizers that courting Firefly-related guests is a good idea.

So come on out, sing along with "The Ballad of Joss," meet some cool authors, and tell everybody about Firefly!

Ahh yet another reason to attend this convention. :o) But what I really want to know, is what do we need to do to get some of the cast to come out to Dallas ComicCon in October for some autogrpah signings?? Carrie Fisher and Johnathan Frakes are going to be there. We need OUR BDH's to be there as well!!! Man I would love a chance to make that happen. Ideas anyone?

I'd write to the con committee and see what we can do to encourage them. It might help to mention how many Browncoats went to see the BDHs at ComicCon in California. Of course, a big turnout of Browncoats at FenCon wouldn't hurt.
