It seems that with the upcoming movie, soon to be released DVD’s, and the FF episodes airing in the UK, Fireflyfans.net has been seeing lots of new browncoats. With our shiny new friends are also coming lots of the same kinds of questions, so, I thought we could set up a little help thread where browncoats who have been around awhile or just know what they’re talking about could help out those that don’t.

Just put out some information you think that new browncoats might need to know, give them a link to another thread that already covers their question, or add a basic question you might have yourself.

Questions I’ve noticed that have been asked a lot-

What is the tag log and where is it?
When do the DVD’s come out?
What is mIRC?
How do I chat in etherstorm and/or irc.firefly fans.net?
How do I make quotes and spoilers or bold, italic, and underlined text?
How do I make emoticons?
How do I upload fan fic to the Blue Sun room?
How do I make a new thread?
Where can I go to download the episodes?
When is unification day?
When is the FF movie coming out?

The Taglog is on the bottom left corner of the home page, and is actually a very basic live chat function. The taglog WON'T show if you aren't logged in, so you'll have to be a member to view and post to the taglog. One note: remember to use spaces, or you'll get the poor taglog all strung out and bumfoozled.

When do the DVD’s come out?

As far as we know, the release date for the DVD's is Dec. 9th, which happens to be the day, last fall, that the folks running "Firefly: Immediate Assistance" ( http://www.fireflysupport.com) ran a full page ad in Variety magazine to help save the show. It didn't keep the show on the air, but it did have a lot to do with the fact that DVD's are being produced and released for a show that was cancelled half way through its first season. It appears that the release date of Dec. 9th is in recognition of their fine efforts.
