I am very, very happy to announce that Veronica Mars has been renewed for a second season!!!

The news just makes me all warm and fuzzy inside. I was just thinking tonight how if the show didn't get renewed I might just die from cancellation because it is yet another wonderful, awesome, intelligent show that doesn't deserve such a fate. sooo...YAY!!!!

Can you tell I'm happy???

And for those who still haven't given it a try, please just take an hour of your time to watch Veronica Mars on UPN, Tuedays 9/8c. I don't think you'll be disappointed and now you have the assurance of a second season. (or at least as assured as can be right now ;) ) So please, please, pretty please with cherries on top, give VM a chance. It's extremely underrated and it deserves so much better.

I am so happy that you posted this.

I haven't been watching VM since it premiered, but in just the past few episodes I've enjoyed it immensely. If I had to pick just one show to come back next season, it would be Veronica Mars. Hooray for Veronica Mars!

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

And it has helped immensely that the last few episodes have been among the best of the season. Perhaps it was viewing the concluding ones that helped UPN make its decision. My only concern is the direction the show will take after this season's mystery has been solved.

Hey, thecrazykind, thanks immensely. I saw Kristen Bell on the otherwise unwatchable Conan last night, and she looked great. She's making two movies (one may already be done). However, I heard no word about the renewal of VERONICA MARS. May have missed it....

Oddness,

Something about Conan drives me NUTS. Has for many years. Prolly not his fault. He was _great_ with Kristen Bell, and did have Duran Duran on, something of a musical scoop, I'd say. So it's just me.

And his closing bit with the security guard and the zapper WAS outstanding.

Actually the first person to break the news was Couch Baron, the recapper at TWoP. Rob Thomas himself called CB Friday night to announce the show was picked up. The TWoPers were highly amused that TWoP broke the news days before any other media outlets.

This is my favorite show, alongside "Arrested Development". It's smart, well-written, and intelligent and I can't wait to see what Rob Thomas and his writers have in store for us at the end of this season and what mystery lies ahead for next season.

So a big thank you to Dawn Ostroff and UPN for realizing, unlike FOX, that shows need time to grow and develop to attract an audience. The critical acclaim and general buzz around "Veronica Mars" are icing on the cake.
