It was the first elections in the UK since I turned 18 yesterday. And I'm pleased to say I took part in the democratic process. I was shocked to find out that the turnout for local elections where I live is only 30%.

It was all very exciting! Any other first time voters here?

Well this year wont be my first to vote, but I am happy that I will have another chance to vote for a Libertarian for President this November.

The Canadian elections are on June 28th and I will definitely be voting! It will be my second time (in a federal election, I've voted in provincial and municipal elections as well). Can't wait to see what happens here as it's kind of a toss-up between the two major parties and we're likely looking at a minority government.

I always vote - but the local paper mentioned that voting here was up to 23 percent????? - That's just shocking

Experience has taught me that interest begets expectation, and expectation begets disappointment, so the key to avoiding disappointment is to avoid interest. A=B=C=A, or whatever

I'm delighted to hear so many are voting ... especially you young 'uns. I think it is extremely important to vote as *part* of getting your voice heard. Keep up the great work!

I've never understood why people (especially young people) don't want to vote - I was actually kinda mad during the 2000 federal elections since I was 6 months too young. But then, a lot of people can't figure out why I'm a politics major!

As they say, if you don't vote, don't complain!

So, I'm also very happy to see so many other voters

I'm a browncoat and on June 28th I will vote!
