Vince Cable: 'Bring back the guillotine...for bankers'

The crass behaviour of Britain’s financial aristocracy rivals the last of the Bourbons. Marie Antoinette famously patronised the Parisian mob with her ‘let them eat cake’, while dining in luxury in the Tuileries.

The City bankers who ruined their banks but have been kept in employment by the taxpayer now demand we pay them their bonuses to maintain the aristocratic lifestyle to which they have become accustomed. They know no shame and take no blame. They are lucky the British have no guillotines in stock.

"Render" them to China.

Not only do they execute em, they send the next of kin an invoice for the bullet.

That being the REASON shittybank (who got thrown out of *japan* for nefarious biz practices) doesn't do biz in China.

I just find it hilarious that the military just dumped Bank of America for our government credit cards in favor of Citi Bank cards.....we'll see how this works out lol.

All I can say to that is bend over.

Their all time favorite trick is changing the payment dates and not sending you the notice, then using the excuse of a missed payment to jack the rate up to 18.99% or more the same day, and applying it against the entire balance.

They try that shit on Mortgages too, but the ex has it paid three months ahead, much to their ire, as they have actually gotten *really* verbally nasty about that on the phone to her at least twice.

Of course, be advised that when (and I mean WHEN, not IF) they try that shit, you should turn around and invoke the SCRA on them, which they *will* then ignore, at which point you can ram some boot up their ass for noncompliance and usually get default judgement against them cause it's cheaper than sending a legal team in to just let it ride - they prey on the unaware and use intimidation because most folk are unwilling and/or unable to invoke and enforce their rights.

As a Service member, you have an edge in that the Service itself will come to your aid, providing that the correct paperwork is filled out - your 1st Sgt or whatever branch equivalent you have will often be quite familiar with it already and can walk you through the process.

Remember, I collect "used up" soldiers too, and all too often in the wreckage of lost jobs, broken marriages and outstanding financial obligations, you have Shittybank dropping the hammer on them no matter what the SCRA says, cause they will *not* obey it till you MAKE them.

It's one of the reasons I hate the bastards so much, and verymuch enjoy shoving that six percent limit up their ass crossways at every friggin opportunity.

I saw some story headline about some banker (large W) proclaiming how they deserve their bonus. To be fair it was the head of Barclays, and he was saying they deserved it because they'd made a profit, but at the same time they're taking advantage of the government guarantee schemes, so they can't be doing that well. The worst is the Royal Bank of Scotland though, on the verge of collapse it receives £20 billion, and recently it's come to light their planning on paying out bonuses of over £1 billion. Bonuses for what? For colossal failure? For managing to get their hands on such a huge amount of tax money? I'm curious why I should pay for the bonuses of over paid RBS management staff, when the economic climate they helped create has prevented me from getting a cost of living raise or bonus, regardless of how hard I work, or how well I do?

These bailouts were done the wrong way. I absolutely believe that they were necessary to prevent further economic disintegration. In fact I think the reason we aren't facing a worse period of recession than during the Great Depression is because of swift government action, but I don't see why measures designed to insulate the wider economy from the bankers greed, arrogance and incompetence should also insulate them from it. If a bank requires a government bailout to stay in business, its shareholders and management should be summarily dismissed, and lose everything, just as they would have if the bank collapsed. The bank bailouts are about protecting US from THEIR bad decisions, not some sort of quasi-socialism for the super-rich. It’s bollocks, and RBS accepting a £20 Billion bailout, then rewarding themselves fat bonuses is more than just spitting in our faces, it’s criminal. Or at least it should be.

But as it goes, steal one hundred pounds, you go to prison, steal a billion you get a yacht.

More insane ramblings by the people who brought you beeeer milkshakes!

Abolished death penalty over there! The last British executions took place in 1964, by hanging.
