this is nice work. although, i think the lines of Inara's eyes should be a little thicker, she's got darker eye makeup on most of the time.

other than that, awesome expression captured on Mal's face, especially the mouth.

I don't knoww what happened to this one ..I used a digital camera 'cause my scanner is kaput..Maybe the ambient light... whatever happened this doesn't look at all like the original. The whole picture should be darker overall...

I love Mal, he looks great. Inara's off, mostly because her hair (imo) should be darker, but I'm assuming that is your digital camera's fault. Bad, mphillips' digital camera, bad technology. Also, I think there is something off about her eyes, but I can't tell if there really is or if it is a byproduct of the aforementioned hair problem... *shrugs* It's all good though because my lovely Mal (as I sometimes like to refer to him) is so, so shiny... :-)

Wonderful pic. I agree with Inara, her eyes look..well...not very Inara-ish, but at the same time, over all it is a wonderful photo. I do love this scene. And where they're doing to whole Buddah thing (I think I've mentioned that before, *L* oh well)

Operative: I should tell you,
so that you don't
waste your time...you can't make me angry.

Inara: Please, spend
an hour with him.

Another lovely MPhillps masterpiece, I have to agree about Inarah, but still wonderful.

mphillips:

Even though it's not on your profile page, I read on the "What do you do in real life?" thread that you work at least part of your time at a facility for the elderly.

Do you ever sketch any of the folk there? Faces that have seen a lot of life are fascinating. I was thinking the subjects would be very appreciative of your skills, *and so would their relatives*. People of earlier generations would be flattered to pose for you, I would imagine; yours is a medium they would be familiar with, comfortable with.

...And just think of the stories you'd hear while they posed. Tell me you haven't missed out on that golden opportunity.

In any case, I greatly appreciate your skill, your art. We are very lucky to have you...

Respectfully,

zoid

Ok it's offical..Inara has taken over Simon's spot as the hardest for me to draw. It might be because most of my requests have been for Mal, or Simon, or River. Even Wash beats out Inara on the request list.Least requested is Book, followed by Zoe.. If you don't draw them that often I guess they're harder to come out looking right..Thanks for all the input

Lovely! I agree that Inara is a little off, but your Mal is perfect, and that's what matters to me!
